In a bid to ensure the smooth release of 96, the film’s protagonist Vijay Sethupathi has come forward to sacrifice his salary.
On Thursday morning, theater owners canceled the early morning shows after the producer couldn’t send KDM to the theaters as financiers who funded the film pressurized him to settle Rs 4 crore in the last minute.
Following this, Vijay Sethupathi gave Rs 4 crore from his own pocket. Interestingly, Vijay Sethupathi got only Rs 3 crore as his remuneration for the film so he actually spent one crore higher to help his producer.
Meanwhile, the film has witnessed good opening today thanks to the positive reviews that are already flooding the media and the social media.
The romantic drama film is written and directed by C. Prem Kumar who earlier handled the cinematography for Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom.
The film features Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha Krishnan in the lead and the film is bankrolled by Nandagopal of Madras Enterprises.
The music for the film is composed by Govind Menon, vocalist and violinist of the band Thaikkudam Bridge. N Shanmuga Sundaram has done the cinematography.
