Vijay and director AR Murugadoss expected to team up for the fourth time for ‘Thalapathy 65‘, which is said to be a sequel to their first venture Thuppakki.
According to reports, the film will be a sequel to the blockbuster film Thuppakki and it is to be produced by Sun Pictures for a huge budget. It is worth noting that Vijay and AR Murgadoss’s last outing Sarkar was also produced by Sun Pictures.
It was also reported earlier that Vijay will be paid a remuneration of Rs 100 crore for his next project with Sun Pictures. If this report turns out to be true, he will be one of the highest paid actors in Kollywood .
Meanwhile, Vijay’s upcoming film Master is expected to hit the big screens in October. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film has Vijay Sethupathi for the main antagonist, Malavika Mohanan and Andrea Jeremiah as female leads.
Kajal Aggarwal, who played Vijay’s love interest in Thuppakki, is being considered to play the female lead in sequel as well. An official announcement will be made soon.
Thuppakki revolves around the story of an army officer, who goes on a mission to find and disable terrorist sleeper cells in Mumbai.
Earlier, there were reports that Vijay will be teaming up with Sudha Kongara of Soorai Pottru fame for his 65th film. However, things didn’t materialise due to reasons best known to them.
Thuppakki is a 2012 action thriller film written and directed by Murugadoss. It stars Vijay and Kajal Aggarwal, with Sathyan, Vidyut Jammwal and Jayaram in supporting roles.
The film revolves around an Indian Army officer on a mission to track down, destroy and deactivate a sleeper cell, after witnessing and barely escaping a bomb blast executed by the cell.
