Director A R Murugadoss, who is for the fourth time joining hands with Vijay after Thuppakki, Kaththi and Sarkar, has said in a recent webinar that Vijay predicted the controversies for Sarkar long back.
“After the release of Mersal, Vijay sir came to my office and told me that the film is under the radar for a single dialogue but Sarkar is full of current politics so he asked me whether I was ready to face the controversies,” he said.
Accordig to the Darbar, Dheena and Ramana maker, “Vijay said he can handle any such issues but asked whether I was fine with the controversies which would happen during the release.
Murugadoss, whose new film with Vijay is said to be bankrolled by Sun Pictures, added: “As Vijay predicted, there were many controversies. But I wasn’t surprised or disappointed with the whole issue.”
Vijay and Murugadoss are all set to team up for the fourth time for a yet-untitled Tamil project. A formal agreement was signed recently and an official announcement will be made soon.
Dubbed Thalapathy 65, the project will mark the reunion of Vijay and Murugadoss after Thuppakki, Kaththi and Sarkar. Over the last few months, names of several filmmakers were vying for the spot to helm Vijay’s next project. From Sudha Kongara to Magizh Thirumeni and Ajay Gnanamuthu, these filmmakers were among the few who were in talks.
Murugadoss’ last release was Rajinikanth starrer Darbar. Darbar featured Rajinikanth in the role of an angry police officer with a vengeance to avenge the death of his daughter.
