The makers of Vijay’s upcoming movie Master released the lyrical video of “Quit Pannuda” song to mark the birthday of the film’s music composer Anirudh Ravichander.
In addition to scoring the beats, Anirudh has also crooned the song which encourages people to quit drinking. The catchy song is written by filmmaker Vignesh Shivn. “Happy birthday rockstar @anirudhofficial ! Have a blast! Thank you @VigneshShivN bro for the awesome lyrics!,” tweeted Lokesh Kanagaraj, who has written and helmed Master.
Anirudh tweeted: “What a bday gift from dearest team #Master 🙂 #QuitPannuda.” Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Master has Thalapathy Vijay as the lead actor, while Vijay Sethupathi will be seen as the main antagonist. While Malavika Mohanan will be seen as the leading lady, Andrea Jeremiah and Shanthnu Bhagyaraj will be seen playing key roles.
The theme of “Quit Pannuda” promotes liquor drinkers to go sober which would also influence the young fans of Vijay to stay away from the slow poison. Vignesh Shivan’s lyrics and Anirudh’s voice are as usual well tuned to the pulse of the youth and the graphics work has also infused the coronavirus flavor into it making it quite topical.
The other songs from the film include ‘Vaathi Coming’, ‘Andha Kanna Paathaakaa’, ‘Kutti Story’, ‘Polakattum Para Para’, ‘Pona Pogattum’ and ‘Vaathi Raid’. Anirudh roped in other music composers to perform in his songs. Music director Santhosh Narayanan has performed in ‘Polakattum Para Para’ while Yuvan has sung ‘Andha Kanna Paathaakaa’.
Meanwhile, one of the most iconic actor-composer combos in modern-day Tamil cinema is back after a gap of five years.
DnA, as they popularly known — Dhanush and Anirudh Ravichander — are collaborating again for the former’s 44th film. Production house Sun Pictures confirmed the news on social media with a tribute video to the duo.
