Bollywood hero Sushant Singh Rajput, known for hit movies like MS Dhoni the Untold story, Kai Po Che, PK, Chhichhore etc had died by suicide on June 14, and it was said that the actor had taken the extreme decision due to depression.
One of the young actor’s last films to release was Chhichhore directed by Nitesh Tiwari, which had Sushant playing his character in two different time frames, during his teenage and later, as a father.
Now, producer Archana Kalpathi of AGS Entertainment has revealed an interesting interesting bit of information about how Vijay came to play dual roles in Bigil directed by Atlee.
In a recent interview, Archana has revealed that they never thought of having Vijay play dual roles in the film initially and had in fact though of approaching some senior actors to play the older character Rayappan in the film.
Archana Kalpathi, in a recent interview said that, initially Atlee and team wanted to cast a senior actor for the father role Rayappan, but after a Mumbai based cosmetologist Preethi Sri showed them photos of Sushant Singh Rajput from Chhichhore where he had an old look, the team was impressed. It was later decided by Atlee and team to make Vijay himself play the father Rayappan role with old look.
Archana Kalpathi, CEO, AGS Cinemas, and creative producer, AGS Entertainment, recently said production of movies is going to be a challenge, not their exhibition.
“It (exhibition) is an organised sector. I expect a huge surge at cinemas as people are waiting to come out. We already have trained staff – we just have to reduce the contact points and make it a safe experience,” she said.
