Vidyasagar, the music composer who ruled the roost in Kollywood in 2000s with back to back hit albums, including Chandramukhi, Dhil and Dhool, is back after a break.
He will compose the music of Susi Ganeshan’s Thiruttu Payale 2, which stars Bobby Simhaa, Prasanna and Amala Paul in lead roles.
“When I was thinking of who should be composing this film, I found most of the younger composers’ songs structurally new, but lacking in melody, which, to me, is the soul of a song. And Vidyasagar is known as the Melody King,” says director Susi Ganesan.
Susi Ganesan has roped in Amala Paul to play the female lead in his Thiruttu Payale 2, which has Bobby Simhaa in the lead, and Prasanna playing the villain.
The director of Kandasamy and Five Star fame was quoted as saying: “The heroine’s character is as powerful as the hero’s and the villain’s, so I was looking out for an actress who is a strong performer, and will look formidable when pitted against the two male stars. In fact, she is another lead in the film. And Amala Paul fit the bill perfectly.”
