Vice President CP Radhakrishnan to visit Rameswaram tomorrow
Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan is scheduled to visit Rameswaram tomorrow as part of his two-day official tour covering Puducherry, Kerala and Tamil Nadu
During the visit, he will attend the valedictory ceremony of Kashi-Tamil Sangamam 4.0, a key cultural event drawing about 5,000 participants.
The programme will see the Vice-President arrive by helicopter at the Public Works Department helipad at around 3:30 pm, followed by a road procession to the event venue near the temple rest house.
Security arrangements include deployment of 700 police personnel, and public travel disruptions are expected on the Madurai-Rameswaram National Highway during his movement.
Authorities have also imposed a temporary ban on drone flights in areas such as Pamban, Mandapam, Thangachimadam and Rameswaram today and tomorrow to ensure safety during the high-profile visit.
State Governor R.N. Ravi, Union Ministers and other dignitaries will also attend the event alongside the Vice-President.
Kashi Tamil Sangamam 4.0, was held from December 2 to 15 in Varanasi, that broughttogether students, academicians, artists, writers, and cultural practitioners from across the country.
The programme celebrated the deep-rooted cultural, spiritual, linguistic, and philosophicall inkages between Tamil Nadu and Kashi, reaffirming India’s civilizational unity and shared heritage.
