Veteran actor Poo Ramu passes away

Veteran Tamil actor Poo Ramu passed away on June 27 (Monday) at Chennai’s Rajiv Gandhi Hospital. He was 60 years old.

On Friday (June 24), he suffered a massive cardiac arrest and was rushed to the hospital. Despite getting treatment for a few days, he passed away on Monday.

His mortal remains have been kept at his residence in Urapakkam for homage.

Poo Ramu was last seen in Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru, directed by Sudha Kongara Prasad. He was a film actor and a street theatre artiste.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin offered condolences to Poo Ramu ‘ family.

In his statement, MK Stalin pointed out that Ramu was a street play artiste who reached out to people on Leftist ideology.

Udhayanidhi Stalin had also paid tribute to Poo Ramu by visiting him at hospital.

Ramu rose to fame in 2008 after he played an important role in director Sasi’s Poo, which was released in 2008.
