Veteran Telugu actor Mohan Babu will be seen playing an important role in Suriya’s upcoming film Soorarai Pottru, which is beign directed by Sudha Kongura of Irudhi Sutru fame.

Besides Suriya and Mohan Babu, Aparna Balamurali and Jackie Shroff will be seen essaying key characters in the film, which is said to be loosely based on the life story of Air Deccan Founder GR Gopinath.

Produced by Suriya’s 2D Entertainment and Guneet Monga, GV Prakash Kumar is composing the music for the film and Niketh Bommireddy is cranking the camera for the film.

Though Mohanbabu was seen in last year’s Savithri bioppic Nadigaiyar Thilagam, in which he portrayed the legendary SV Ranga Rao, this will mark his proper return to Tamil films — after almost 40 years.

Within days, the team has completed the first schedule. Posting about this, heroine Aparna Balamurali wrote: “Wrapping up the first schedule of Soorarai Pottru!”

Updating a selfie with Suriya on Instagram, she further posted: “”So much in love with everything about this set. My iron lady, Sudha maam.. nothing like her.And this main man. He is beyond words. One in millions Waiting for the next schedule to start”.

While Suriya plays the role of Gopinath, Aparna will essay the role of his wife Bhargavi Gopinath. Actors Arjunan, Kaali Venkat and Vivek Prasanna are part of the supporting cast.
