Vanitha Vijayakumar, who shot to fame after her participation in the third season on Tamil reality show Bigg Boss, recently put out a video saying that men in Thanjavur have two wives. This video sparked massive controversy and people started calling out her for issuing such baseless allegations.
Vanitha who took a break from Twitter for a couple of days returned back and has rendered an apology but its not to her critics but to the Thanjavur people. In one of her videos, she had mentioned that in Thanjavur it is common for people to have two spouses.
“Tanjavour is my native and I am very proud of its heritage and culture..I never spoke anything to hurt any of my people who are all my family..I spoke very proudly that the men are so honest to take care of their families and be true to their commitments and responsibilities,” she said.
Vanitha added: “I spoke highly of my father as a husband who is from tanjavour..my mother too is from Tanjore but different castes…I will never feel bad to apologize for something I have said or done wrong if it really was wrong..I may have been misunderstood but have no such disrespect”.
Vanitha Vijayakumar, who got embroiled in yet another controversy, after she said that it was common among Tanjore men to have two wives, has now apologized for the same.
Meanwhile, after the ugly verbal spat between Vanitha Vijayakumar and Lakshmy Ramakrishnan on an online platform, now Peter’s Paul’s first wife Elizabeth Helen has released a video statement in which she is seen apologising to Lakshmy for the derogatory behaviour of Vanitha Vijayakumar.
She said, “It was on our request that Lakshmy Ramakrishnan interfered in the manner. But, Vanitha Vijayakumar spoke to her in a derogatory manner and even used unparliamentary words during the conversation. I couldn’t sleep after the spat and I sincerely apologise to Lakshmy Ramakrishnan who was subjected to such behaviour because of us. It’s because of us that Lakshmy Ramakrishnan was hurt. I don’t expect Vanitha Vijayakumar to ask for sorry but I apologise to her.”
