Vairamuthu, Karunanidhi enter Kabali row

While lyricist Vairamuthu has taken back his words that Kabali was a flop, DMK president M Karunanidhi has said a person close to chief minister J Jayalalithaa distributed the Rajinikanth film.

At a function earlier this week, Vairamuthu has spoken that Kabali was a flop film. Even as this created a stir among Rajini fans, the lyricist on Tuesday issued a statement, saying that he mistakenly utter that word.

“I intended to say that we should understand whether Kabali is a hit or flop. But I missed out to say the word ‘hit’. I have explained this to Rajini, whom I respect a lot,” he said.

Meanwhile, Kabali producer Kalaipuli S Thanu has said Vairamuthu is upset that he was not given an opportunity to pen lyrics in Kabali, and hence, speaking like this. He also said the lyricist got 4000 tickets from him for Kabali first day, but did not give money.
