Vadivelu in Kamal Haasan’s Thalaivan Irukkinran?

Kamal Haasan recently re-confirmed that one of his upcoming projects, Thalaivan Irukkindran, is very much on track. Now, reports suggest that Vadivelu might be roped in for the project.

If this materialises, this will be their fifth collaboration after Thevar Magan (1992), Singaravelan (1992), Maharasan (1993), and Kaadhala Kaadhala (1998). The film is expected to go on floors soon.

A R Rahman tweeted recently: “Happy and excited to collaborate with the one and only @ikamalhaasan himself on a magnum opus… Watch this space for more @RKFI @lycaproductions #RKFI #lycaproductions.”

In response, Kamal wrote: “Thanks ARR for strengthening the team with your participation.Very few projects feel good & right even as we develop it.Thalaivan Irukkindraan is one such.Your level of excitement for the project is very contagious.Let me pass it on to the rest of our crew.”

Vadivelu agreed to do a project for Lyca Productions for the remuneration he had got for Imsai Arasan 24aam Pulikesi, a sequel to 23aam Pulikesi. “Since the period film is dropped, Vadivelu has been brought on board for this one,” said sources.

Thalaivan Irukkindran which is reportedly based on a life of a politician is expected to feature actor Vadivelu along with megastar Kamal Haasan in the lead. The Vishwaroopam 2 actor is also busy hosting a popular television show Bigg Boss. The megastar made headlines recently when he was gearing up to shoot for his film Indian 2 which is helmed by director Shankar.

Kamal and Vadivelu had previously worked together in films like Thevar Magan and Singaravelan. Sources say that the script demands a comedy actor who can also emote well on serious occasions so Kamal has roped in Vadivelu.
