Actor-producer Udhayanidhi Stalin, who recently became the youth wing president of the DMK, is eagerly awaiting the release of Psycho, in which he has acted in the direction of Mysskin for the first time.
Speaking to the media in Chennai, he said, “Mysskin designed my look in Psycho, he cut my hair and changed me as Gautham. You will not see Udhay in the film as Mysskin has only extracted the performance that would suit the character Gautham in the film”.
According to Udhayanidhi, he insisted at least one action scene in the film but Mysskin denied including such cliched portions because it would spoil the uniqueness of Psycho.
“Every actor wants to work with Ilaiyaraaja sir at least once in their life. Glad I got a chance to work with him in Psycho,” the actor, who was part of films such as Oru Kal Oru Kannadi and Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal, said.
He also said: “Though Aditi Rao Hydari plays my pair in the film, Nithya Menen will travel throughout with me, she plays a challenging character.”
Mysskin had recently approached revising committee of CBFC after the Censor Board offiicals objected to the use of the word ‘psycho’ in the title, and had asked the filmmaker to change it.
According to reports, after several rounds of debates and discussion, the committee has approved the request. While the same has been communicated to the makers, an official communication regarding the same is awaited.
The film is produced by Double Meaning Productions and the cinematography of the film is handled by P.C. Sreeram. Maestro Ilayaraja’s music is one of the main highlights of the movie. The first single from the movie ‘Unna Nenachu’ is Sid Sriram’s very first collaboration with the Maestro.
