Alleging that they suffered huge losses releasing Sivakarthikeyan starrer Seemaraja, film distributors have said that they will not allow the release of Mr Local unless Sivakarthikeyan compensates them.
A section of distributors have claimed that they suffered huge loss to the tune of Rs 40 crore screening his earlier movies.
“Sivakarthikeyan had promised to compensate us for our losses. Hence he should take immediate efforts to bail us out. Untill he decides to do so, we will not co-operate with him. We will allow the release of Mr Local only of our demans are met,” they said.
Currently, Siva is busy shooting for Hero which is being directed by Mithran of Irumbuthirai fame.
He is also busy with a sci-fi film being directed by Ravikumar, Mr Local directed by M Rajesh and other projects. Recently, the release of Sivakarthikeyan and Nayanthara’s upcoming film, Mr Local, has been pushed to May 17. The film, was earlier slated to release on May 1.
The star cast for the film includes Sivakarthikeyan, Nayanthara, Yogi Babu and Sathish to name a few. Mr Local is directed by M Rajesh of Siva Manasula Sakthi, Oru Kal Oru Kannadi, and Boss Engira Baskaran fame.
The makers recently released the lyric video of one of the songs from the film, Kalakkalu Mr.Localu, sung by Sivakarthikeyan. The peppy track, which is said to be Sivakarthikeyan’s introduction song in the film, has lyrics by K R Dharan.
