Union Minister of State for Finance and Shipping Pon Radhakrishnan has promised all help to develop Coimbatore region in respect of rail, road and air connectivity.
During an interaction with industrialists and traders, he said he would arrange for an audience with all ministries concerned, particularly Civil Aviation and Railways, so that they could put forward their problems.
BJP National General secretary P Muralidhar Rao on Wednesday took a dig at Congress President Rahul Gandhi for making observations like a ‘platform speaker.’
He said this while addressing industrialists and traders on the Goods and Services Tax, on which Gandhi has been advocating a single slab GST.
“Rahul Gandhi has confidence that he will not come to power. If that be the case, he will be speaking more responsibly,” Rao said.
Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party is super busy, as its top bosses are set to visit the State soon.
While Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on an official visit to Tamilnadu to lay the foundation stone for the proposed All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Madurai, BJP national president Amit Shah will visit Chennai 9 July, to review the party’s growth in Tamilnadu and its prospects in the State for the Lok Sabha elections.
