TN Plus Two results: 91.1% students pass; leaders greet winners

The Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE) today announced the Tamil Nadu HSC plus two results 2018 on on its official website tnresults.nic.in.

According to data, 91% of the students emerged successful. Girls continued to outshine boys, with 94.1% of them clearing the exams, which was 6.4% more than that of the number of boys.

This year, second time in a row, DGE Tamil Nadu has not released the list of toppers in 12th result. ‘CBSE is already following this, and why because other students who get even one mark less (than the rank holders) face severe stress.

Among the districts that fared well, Virudhunagar topped the list, followed by Erode and Tirupur.Subject-wise, more number of students (96.4 percent) cleared Physics, followed by Chemistry, Biology and Maths.

In a statement, deputy chief minister O Panneerselvam said, “I wish all the students who have passed the plus two exams. For going forward in the life, self-confidence is important. Former chief minister J Jayalalithaa used to say that nothing is impossible for students.”

DMK working president M K Stalin said, “The students must go for higher education and clear future exams, as well. Students who haven’t cleared Class XII exams should realise that loss is only a step for success. They must make use of the next opportunity and clear the exams by working even more hard.”
