TN govt services to become hassle-free, CM announces new measures to woo investments

Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami has announced the government’s decision to launch zero proof identity-based predictive government service delivery.

He informed the assembly on Friday that a new blockchain backbone infrastructure will be set up for the Tamil Nadu government which can be used wherever genuineness of transactions has to be established.

He announced that a special division called “Yaadhum Oorey” will be formed at a cost of Rs 60 lakh to attract more investments in to the state.

Making a statement under Rule 110 in the Assembly, he said a special website will also be launched for people to connect with each other, share their ideas, create awareness and attract investments.

“To enable all districts to become industrial hubs, Sipcot will sign joint ventures with private persons who have 100 acres or more of land to set up industrial parks,” Palaniswami said.

“To provide adequate guidance to foreign investors keen on investing in Tamil Nadu and to identify potential investors, a special unit comprising experts will be created specifically for each of the following countries – Japan, South Korea, USA, China, Taiwan, France, Israel and Germany,” the CM said.

He further said government training centres will be set up at a cost of Rs 26 crore at Perumbakkam in Kanchipuram and Sembodai in Nagapattinam. The work will be taken up in collaboration with Powergrid Corporation India Limited and Bharath Petroleum Corporation Limited.
