TN Governor appoints Sudha Seshayyan as MGR Medical University VC

Banwarilal Purohit, Governor of Tamil Nadu and Chancellor of The Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University, on Saturday appointed Dr Sudha Seshayyan as Vice-Chancellor of university for a period of three years with effect from the date of her assumption of office.

According to a Raj Bhavan statement, Dr Sudha Seshayyan has an outstanding academic record having come first in the University in her postgraduate course.

She enjoys a rich teaching experience of more than 30 years and is at present the Director & Professor of Institute of Anatomy in Madras Medical College, the
premier medical college of the State.

She is familiar with University administration having functioned as the Registrar of the Tamil Nadu
Dr MGR Medical University. Her administrative experience includes positions as such Vice-Principal of Madras Medical College and Director of the Institute of Anatomy of Madurai and Madras Medical Colleges.

The release added that for her role as a teacher and an administrator she has been decorated with the best administrator award by The Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical
University. She has served on the prestigious Editorial Review Board for Gray’s Anatomy and continues to be a member of the International Advisory Board for reviewing the publication.

Her articles on Anatomy and Medical Sciences have appeared in the Science Encyclopaedia of Tamil University, it concluded.
