The Great Indian Kitchen movie review
Story:
Aishwarya Rajesh and Rahul Ravindran get married. While Aishwarya is from a modern family, Rahul is from an orthodox family who are strict in following traditions and believe that women belong in the kitchen.
Initially, Aishwarya Rajesh finds it difficult to get along in the family but manages to come to terms with the system.
But there comes a point where she cannot take it anymore. What happens next forms the crux of the story.
Analysis:
Director R Kannan has not tried anything different from the original version. He has just changed things to suit the local audience.
But the core theme of the movie remains intact which is one of the major positives of the film. Aishwarya Rajesh and Rahul have put on convicing performances.
Especially Aishwarya Rajesh has delivered one of her finest performances in this role. She has brought out the struggles that her character undergoes.
With most of the proceedings taking place inside the house, Balasubramaniem’s frames are effective. Jerry Silverster Vincet’s BGM is good.
