Thank you for the love and support for my performance in ‘Vaazhai’, I will continue to act in good films: Producer-Director-Actor JSK

‘Vaazhai’, which has received widespread acclaim from various quarters after its release in theatres recently, features JSK in the role of a trader, drawing the attention of fans. JSK, who shines across multiple hats as a distributor, producer, director, and actor, has expressed his gratitude for the response to ‘Vaazhai’.

He said, “I extend my heartfelt thanks to Director Mari Selvaraj for offering me this excellent opportunity, to Red Giant Movies for releasing the film, and to Producer Dhilp Subbarayan Master. My gratitude also goes to all the co-actors and technical team who worked with me on ‘Vaazhai’.

Journalists who watched the movie have mentioned and appreciated my performance in their reviews. I am thankful for their encouragement. It is very gratifying to see that the journalists who have been supportive since the early days of my career continue to support my acting journey too. My heartfelt gratitude to audience and public too for their overwhelming support.

Kudos to the actors in ‘Vaazhai’ – Nikhila Vimal, Divya Duraisamy, Kalaiyarasan, Ponvel, Rahul, Janaki who played the role of mother, and Padhman who played a broker. I am confident that Ponvel will receive a National Award. Thanks to the cinematographer Theni Easwar and the talented music composer Santosh Narayanan, as well as all other technical artistes, including associate and assistant directors.

The success of ‘Vaazhai’ stands as an example of the Tamil audience’s continuous support for great movies. Director Mari Selvaraj, who has been making socially responsible films, has emerged as an indispensable force in Tamil cinema. With the Tamil film industry advancing towards quality alternative cinema, there is a growing expectation for upcoming young directors to make responsible films.

Though I have produced successful films that won National Awards, it was Director Ram who introduced me as an actor in ‘Taramani’. I am obliged to thank him at this moment. It is an honour to also act in his ‘Peranbu’. Following this, I appeared in the Tamil version of ‘Kapadathari’ with Sibiraj and the Telugu version with Sumanth, and in films like ‘Friendship’ directed by John, and ‘Aneethi’ directed by Vasanthabalan. I am very pleased with the praise received from the critics for these films.

Looking ahead, I will play a significant role in the Tamil and Telugu versions of ‘Agni Siragugal’, directed by Naveen and starring Arun Vijay and Vijay Antony. I am also cast in a major antagonist role in ‘Yaarukkum Anjael’, directed by Ranjith Jayakodi of ‘Puriyatha Pudhir’ fame. Additionally, I am working on projects like ‘Sambavam’ with Natti and Sreekanth and in ‘Xavier’.

Moreover, I am stepping into the role of a director with ‘Fire’, featuring stars like Balaji Murugadoss, Rachitha Mahalakshmi, Chandini Tamilarasan, Gayathri Shan, Singam Puli, Suresh Chakravarthy, and Padhman. The film is ready for release soon. The music release event will be held shortly.

Furthermore, in the sequel to ‘Kuttram Kadithal’, I will portray a central character as a government school teacher nearing retirement, under the direction of S.K. Jeeva (the director of ‘Puthumaipiththan’ and the story writer for ‘Azhagiya Tamizh Magan’ and ‘Aneethi’). I believe this will be one of the finest works in Tamil cinema. It is being created with social awareness and will be an important film in Tamil cinema.

Although many opportunities continue to come my way, I am determined to act in good stories with great directors in challenging roles. Opportunities are also coming in from Malayalam cinema.

I would like to take this moment to express my gratitude to the journalists and media friends who continue to provide encouragement and enthusiasm. I sincerely hope you will support novel efforts, as the era for good alternative cinema in Tamil cinema is flourishing.”
