Thalaivi release postponed
The makers of Thalaivi released a statement on Twitter informing the audience that they want to extend their support to the government and hence would like to postpone the release date of the film.
The statement read, “Since the film has been made in multiple languages, we would like to release it in all languages on the same day. But with an alarming rise in Covid-19 cases, even though our film is ready for release on April 23, we want to extend our support towards the government and have decided to postpone the release of Thalaivi (sic).”
The film directed by A L Vijay is based on the life of the former Tamilnadu Chief Minsiter J Jayalalithaa, also stars Arvind Swamy, Nassar, Bhagyashree and Samuthirakani.
The makers recently released the trailer of the film that has garnered over 19 million views. The multilingual film will release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
