Here are updates on the teasers of two of the much awaited movies of the year- Superstar Rajinikanth’s 2.0 and Dhanush’s Vada Chennai, respectively.
While the former is directed by Shankar, the latter is being helmed by Vetrimaaran. Expectations are running high on both the movies.
The teaser of 2.0, a sequel to Enthiran, will be released on August 15 (Independence Day). This has been confirmed by the Oscar-winning sound engineer Resul Pookutty.
Made on a whopping budget of Rs 500 crore, 2.0 has been in the production for over two years now. The film has music by Oscar-Grammy winner A R Rahman and it is being produced by Lyca Productions.
Meanwhile, the teaser of Vada Chennai is being released today. On Friday, Dhanush tweeted: “#vadachennai teaser from tom !!”
Vada Chennai is a story that is set in North Chennai and spread for a period of 35 years. It follows the story of a national level carom player Anbu who aspires to become a world champion. The movie is also touted to have a strong political angle to it.
Produced as a trilogy by A. Subaskaran’s Lyca Productions and Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films with Vetrimaran’s Grass Root Film Company, it features Dhanush in the lead role with Samuthirakani, Aishwarya Rajesh and Andrea Jeremiah in other key roles.
The film had been in the news since late 2009 with an official announcement only made in November 2011 that the filming would commence by March 2012. After being temporarily shelved, the film re-materialised in May 2015 with a new cast and production started in June 2017.
