TASMAC Introduces Digital QR Codes on Liquor Bottles

In a bid to modernize and enhance the shopping experience for customers, TASMAC (Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation) has rolled out a new digital initiative. Beginning with outlets in Kancheepuram and Chengalpattu, TASMAC has introduced QR codes on liquor bottles, aiming to offer a more streamlined and tech-savvy process for consumers.

The newly implemented QR codes on the bottles will allow customers to scan and access detailed information about the product they are purchasing. This includes key details such as the brand, production data, and alcohol content. Additionally, the QR code will direct consumers to a secure payment platform, allowing for cashless transactions at the store.

The digital move is also expected to bring greater transparency to the purchase process, ensuring authenticity and reducing the chances of counterfeit liquor entering the market. This initiative is part of TASMAC’s ongoing efforts to modernize its operations, improve customer convenience, and encourage responsible alcohol consumption.

Authorities hope that this innovation will create a safer and more efficient purchasing experience, while also reducing the possibility of illegal activities linked to alcohol sales. The QR code feature is expected to expand across other regions of Tamil Nadu in the near future, as part of TASMAC’s digital transformation strategy.
