Even as the Congress appeared to have making a comeback in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan and there seemed to be a close fight between the Congress and Madhya Pradesh.
TNCC president S Thirunavukkarasar and BJP state president Tamilisai Soundararajan expressed their views.
Speaking to the media, Thirunavukkarasar said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s wave is on the decline and it is time for Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s wave.”
“Congress’ good show in the five States election is a trailer of what is to come in the upcoming Lok Sabha election,” he said.
He further said: “BJP’s loss is because of their failure to fulfil their election promises. People have recognised the hardwork that Rahul Gandhi has put in.
Northern States are considered as a strong hold for Hindutva and a loss for BJP in these States has come as a huge blow to them.”
Tamilisai told reporters: “Modi wave will never ever recede. BJP never jumps on victories nor lie down after facing defeats. We will bounce back in 2019 with vigour.”
She added: “This is not a humiliating defeat for the BJP as the margins are very narrow. Congress which fauled the EVMs whenever BJP won should apologise for the aprehensions it caused in the people’s mind.”
