Tamil Nadu objects to CWMA meet minutes, demands correction
Minister Duraimurugan has expressed serious concerns over the recent Cauvery Water Management Authority (CWMA) meeting, alleging that certain individuals, referred to as ‘miscreants’, included the Mekedatu dam plan in the agenda despite assurances from the Centre that it would not be discussed.
This controversial move has led to strong objections from the Tamil Nadu government, which has demanded alterations to the meeting minutes to accurately reflect the events that transpired.
Responding to allegations by AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami that the DMK government had permitted the CWMA to discuss the dam proposal, Minister Duraimurugan categorically denied these claims.
He stated that the issue had been raised with the Union minister and officials of the CWMA. The situation underscores the need for continued vigilance and prompt action to safeguard the rights and interests of all parties involved.
