Tamil Nadu Cabinet approves investment proposals worth Rs 34,237 crore

The Tamil Nadu Cabinet on Thursday approved 15 industrial investment projects worth Rs 34,000 crore with the potential to generate employment opportunities for nearly 55,000 people.

The approval includes Hyundai’s expansion plans, said Industries Minister TRB Rajaa.

Briefing newspersons on the meeting, which was chaired by Chief Minister MK Stalin, Rajaa said that projects will be set up in districts, including Chennai, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur, Ranipet, Tiruvannamalai, Krishnagiri, Namakkal, Perambalur, Tiruchirappalli, Karur, Tiruppur, Ramanathapuram, and Thoothukudi.

The investments include advanced manufacturing of electronics by Kaynes Circuits India Pvt Ltd; manufacturing of automotive electronics components by Johnson Electric Private Limited and manufacturing of ‘Adidas’ footwear and sports shoes by Evervan Kothari Footwear Private Limited.

Further, he said, a ship structure construction and shipbuilding project by Chennai-based Radha Engineering Works (CREW) Group, and the manufacturing of electronic components by Yeemak Group. Manufacturing of aerospace and defence components by Jeanuvs Group and automotive components by Yazaki India Pvt Ltd are among the other projects, he said.
