Tamil Nadu Assembly likely to discuss Kerala road accident which killed 8 TN students

The Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly is expected to take up the recent fatal road accident in Thrissur, Kerala, which claimed eight lives. Minister S Rajesh Kumar said the government would provide details of the incident and discuss possible assistance for the families of those who died.

The accident occurred late Friday night at Panambikkunnu in Kaipamangalam. A car carrying eight people, including engineering students from Dindigul district in Tamil Nadu, collided with the rear of a stationary lorry on the highway.

Describing the incident as deeply tragic, the minister said the Kerala government had completed the post-mortem procedures and arranged for the bodies to be handed over. The Tamil Nadu government has also been informed about the incident.

As the Assembly is currently in session, the government is expected to present details of the accident and outline the steps being considered for the bereaved families on Monday.
