Yaman Tamil Movie Review
Political pundit
STORY:
Tamizharasan (Vijay Antony), a smart youngster, accepts the blame for a drunk and drive mishap as he wants to save the life of his ailing grandfather (Sangili Murugan) who suffers from cancer.
Thus starts his political links. The rest is all about how the scheming young man makes use of all the opportunities to climb up the political ladder and how he eliminates his opponents.
ANALYSIS:
From Naan till Saithan, Vijay Antony graduated step by step as an actor. And Yaman, which is his first political thriller, marks his arrival as a matured actor who is at ease.
But still, it is obvious that the music composer-turned-actor is particular about doing scenes which he is comfortable with. We expect him to break this in his next flick.
Miya George has not much to perform, while veterans like Thiagarajan and Charlie are a big bonus to the movie. Another big plus is the music of Vijay Antony, especially the background score.
Director Jeeva Shankar, who has doubled up as cinematographer too, has presented one more successful venture in the company of Vijay Antony. Editing by Veera Senthill Raj too needs praise.
On the whole, Yaman is a taut political thriller with clever screenplay and so many twists and turns. And it fits well to the present political scenario of the state.
