Blood Relation
STORY:
Kathir (Kreshna), a bubbly youth, meets Kavitha (Swathi) at a bus stop and it is love at first sight for him. But soon, Kavitha gets killed in a road mishap.
In the meantime, few other murders too happen. The police commissioner (Prakash Raj) finds a common link between the deaths and it emerges that Kavitha was murdered actually.
All roads lead to a hospital, whose top boss is into commiting medical crimes. The rest is all about an all out war between Kathir and the hospital owner (Guru Somasundaram).
ANALYSIS:
If director Kuzhandhai Velappan’s first film Aanmai Thavarel was about human trafficking, his latest venture Yaakai revolves around the crimes happening in hospitals.
Though the idea is good, the director has missed the bus is execution. For, the story which deserves a racy and riveting treatment, falls flat due to underwhelming writing and making.
Kreshna has tried to perform a ‘loosy payyan’ kind of role, but his efforts go in vain. Swathi gets a meaty role and tries to remind us of Asin in Ghajini. For Prakashraj, it is a cakewalk to do the role of a police officer, while Guru Somasundaram is misfit to his character.
Yuvan Shankar Raja’s musical score and grand visuals fail to sustain the interest. But there are few scenes which the audience may find interesting. Better luck next time for both Kuzhandhai Velappan and Kreshna.
