STORY:<\/strong><\/p>\nPugazhendhi Subramaniam (Atharva) is an athlete in Kumbakonam with a rare disorder (even for a small injury, he will bleed heavily, leading to black out). He lives a happy life in a family of a police inspector father (Jayaprakash) and innocent mother.<\/p>\n
As it happens, a wrong call leads him fall for Gayathri (Sri Divya), a charming young woman. Also, Pugazh crosses swords with a dreaded gang (RNR Manohar and his men) which is involved in counterfeit currency and other illegal operations.<\/p>\n
The story shifts to Chennai. Pugazh now has two tasks in hand- to win a championship besides defeating the gang which is baying for him. And he has to do these by fighting his own disorder. Is he able to achieve?<\/p>\n
ANALYSIS:<\/strong><\/p>\nDirector Ravi Arasu, a former associate of Vetrimaaran, has tried to pack too many things- action, romance, emotions, comedy etc- in one jar, thus leading to overflow of ingredients.<\/p>\n
The premise is interesting and he has done enough research. We are not denying that. But too many things dilute the actual motive, making Eeti yet another movie in the crowd.<\/p>\n
Especially, he could have avoided the comedy track which shows married women in bad light. Also, the second half could have been sharper, provided such a title and knot. At the same time, there are many interesting moments in the movie.<\/p>\n
Atharva is like one-man army, as he has equipped himself in a commendable way for his role of an athlete. With a toned body and improved performance, he vows one and all.<\/p>\n
Sri Divya speaks a lot with her eyes and with her girl-next-door looks coming to her help, she is here to stay. Jayaprakash, Manohar and others have done their respective parts well.<\/p>\n
Music by G V Prakash Kumar gels well with the story, while cinematographer and stunt master are real strengths. On the other hand, editing could have been lot more precise.<\/p>\n
To sum it up, Eeti is neither a forgettable movie nor a great attempt. It is watchable if you are ready for an all-purpose vehicle that wanders into many areas.<\/p>\n
