Vivegam Tamil Movie Review

STORY:

Ajay Kumar aka AK (Ajith), after single-handedly attacking a terror base, escapes from the spot with a drive loaded with secret codes to launch nuclear weapons.

Hence, he is wanted by an international couter terrorism squad, headed by Aryan (Vivek Oberoi). But a flashback reveals that it was AK who once headed the elite squad and he was admired by all.

He also has a loving pregnant wife Yazhini (Kajal Aggarwal). As AK catches Natasha (Akshara Haasan), a hacker with codes to launch earthquakes with nuclear weapons, things turn turtle as Aryan emits his grey shades and plays havoc.

Now it is a cat and mouse game between AK and Aryan. Both use their brains and muscles to beat each other. Who wins the deadly game forms the rest of Vivegam.

ANALYSIS

Here is Ajith on big screen after a long gap of two years and it is sure celebration time for his fans. Predicting this, the duo of Ajith and director Siva deliver enough mass moments, making fans scream in theatres.

Ajith’s screen presence and hardwork are the two big highlights of the movie. As the film ends, we are shown how much efforts the ‘thala’ has put to get his act right in Vivegam.

Kajal Aggarwal gets a meaty role and performs well. Akshara and Vivek Oberoi impress in their Tamil debut. Background score by Anirudh is a solid strength, while Vettri’s cinematography is ‘vera level’.

Director Siva has delivered the story with all elements such as action, sentiment, love, friendship, betrayal and revenge. He is close to perfection in many scenes.

The screenplay is engaging. However it could have been a little bit more crispier. It would take a while for the audience to get a grasp of what is going on.

The mind games between the hero and villain keep the audience on the edge of their seat. Vivegam is a real treat for Ajith fans.
