Tik Tik Tik Movie Review

A massive asteroid is all set strike India and there is a big danger of around four crore people getting killed. The country’s army chief (Jayaprakash) comes to know about it and chalks out ways to save people.
Only seven more days are left for the asteroid attack and the only way to thwart it is to destroy it with a missile which is hidden in a Chinese space station.
The chief forms a team comprising his subordinates Swathi (Nivetha Pethuraj) and Raghuram (Vincent Asokan), a petty thief Vasu (Jayam Ravi) who is an escape artist, a hacker Appu (Arjunan) and Venkat (Ramesh Tilak).
The task before them is to steal the missile from the Chinese space station and to ensure that it destroys the asteroid. However, just before he is about to board the spaceship, Vasu gets a shocking phone call.
The caller says he has kidnapped Vasu’s son Ravi (Aarav) and demands the missle as ransom. The rest is all about whether Vasu is able to save his country and his son.
ANALYSIS
After making Indian cinema’s first zombie thriller Miruthan, director Shakti Soundar Rajan has joined hands with Jayam Ravi once again, this time for the country’s first space thriller.
In a fraction of the budget of Hollywood movies of the same genre, Shakti Soundar Rajan has managed to pull off an impressive show and has added pride to Kollywood.
Jayam Ravi is in full form and comes up with a convincing performance. He is good in both action and emotional scenes. Nivetha Pethuraj fits the bill well for an action packed role, while the rest of the cast, including Jayaprakash and Ravi’s son Aarav, are more than impressive.
Breathtaking visuals by Venkatesh, intriguing and interesting musical score by D Imman, stunning visual effects and aesthetic art direction are the hallmarks of Tik Tik Tik. In a way, the team has set an example of how to make an engaging space thriller in a limited budget.
Though there are logical loopholes and the story moves slow, Tik Tik Tik is no doubt a worth watching movie and the efforts and detailing are definitely laudable.
