Thalaivi movie review
Story:
Jaya (Kangana Ranaut) is an upcoming actress in Tamil cinema.
After a few years, Jaya gets a chance to star opposite MGR (Arvind Swamy), one of the biggest superstars of Tamil cinema. MGR starts liking her attitude and persona. She falls for his good hearted nature.
The duo start to work in film together and deliver several hits. R M Veerappan (Raj Arjun), MGR’s PA does not like this as he feels that Jaya will spoil MGR’s reputation.
A few years later, MGR enters politics and joins DMK, headed by Karunanidhi (Nassar).
After a rift with Karunanidhi MGR floats a new party. Veerapan advises him to keep Jaya away and he agrees. What happens next forms the rest of the story.
Analysis:
Kangana lives the role and is completely convincing as Jaya. Aravind Swami’s role is challenging and he has carried it with ease.
The chemistry between the lead pair is electrifying. Raj Arjun and Nassar have delivered terrific performances as well.
Story for the movie is penned by Vijayendra Prasad and does complete does to the journey of the former Chief Minister.
Director A L Vijay keeps the film engaging and there are enough mass moments to keep the audience engaged.
GV Prakash’s background score is pulsating.
