Tamilselvanum Thaniyar Anjalum Tamil Movie Review

Delayed Delivery

STORY:

Tamilselvan (Jai) is a happy go lucky youth who falls in love with Kavya (Yami Gautham). In order to woo her, Tamilselvan takes up a courier boy’s job and starts visiting Kavya’s office with several parcels daily.

Twist in the tale arises when Tamilselvan is asked to deliver a parcel which is related to a huge conspiracy involving a renowned group of doctors. Things take an ugly turn when the dreaded gang starts following him for the parcel.

What is in that parcel? What will Tamilselvan do now? How will he escape this deadly situation? Does he succeed in his love with Kavya? That forms the rest of the story.

ANALYSIS:

After lying in the cans for a long time, Tamilselvanum Thaniyar Anjalum, directed by debutant Prem Sai and produced by Gautham Vasudev Menon, is finally here.

It takes a thread from David Koepp’s Premium Rush — of a bicycle messenger being chased around New York for an envelope in his possession — and gives it a local twist, a different web of crime.

As the film is short, too much of song-and-dance seems to have been stuffed without proper spacing. Jai has performed well, while Yami Gautham has no role in the story. Santhanam, Ashutosh Rana and Nasser do their parts quite well.

Some flaws in the screenplay are obvious. But we should laud the director for making the film crisp. Had he pumped in more pace and space, Tamilselvanum Thaniyar Anjalum would have been a great show.
