Sarkar Tamil Movie Review
STORY:
Sundar Ramasamy (Vijay) is the chief executive officer of the world’s top company GL. He is popularly known as corporate monster since he not just conquers his competition but annihilates it.
Hailing from Tamil Nadu, Sundar lives abroad. One day, when he decides to visit India, everybody gets shocked. Even as many firms are worried about his agenda, he reveals that he is back to his native only to cast his vote in elections.
But, to his shock, he realises at the polling booth that someone else had cast his vote. Following this, he goes to the court and uses the 49 (P) section which causes re-election in the state.
Many other youngstes too use this route and this triggers the wrath of powerful politicians (Pazha Karuppaiah, Radha Ravi and Varalakshmi Sarathkumar). They hatch conspiracy against Sundar.
Determined to take them head on, Sundar quits his CEO post and decides to contest in elections. Is he able to change the system? Is is posssible for him to bring in the desired changes in the country? Sarkar has the answers.
ANALYSIS:
The much awaited Sarkar, which got caught in controversies even before its release, is finally here and we must say it is an out and out Vijay show. The actor has made use of the movie to further his political ambitions, so to say.
With his power-packed performance, Vijay proves that he is the lifeline and the real treasure of Sarkar. He sinks his teeth into the character and, in several sequences, peels off the mask of superstardom and brings the actor to the fore.
Director A R Murugadoss has presented an agenda-based movie and has succeeded to an extent. Though the real story starts only in the second half, things go dragging post interval. But the first half is racy and entertaining, we must admit.
Keerthy Suresh, who appears as Nila, has got nothing much to do when compared to Nadigayar Thilakam and Sandakozhi 2. But Varalakshmi Sarathkumar, as scheming politician Komalavalli, steals the show.
Both Pazha Karuppaiah and Radha Ravi shine bright as politicos, while Yogi Babu has been wasted. Girish Gangadharan’s frames are stylish, but the one who is scoring big is A R Rahman with his background score.
The film is lengthy at 163 minutes and certain songs and scenes can certainly be chopped off. Sarkar is a real treat for Vijay fans while it would end up as mixed bag for others.
