Sandakozhi 2 Tamil Movie Review
STORY:
Durai (Rajkiran) is a respected man in Theni district and people listen to his words. In a temple festival years ago, Pechi’s (Varalakshmi Sarathkumar) husband gets killed in a group clash.
Following this, she vows to finish off all men in the opposite clan, but one man named Anbu is left out. Durai now takes responsibility to protect Anbu at any cost.
In the meantime, villages in the locality organise for a festival after a gap of seven years, which also marks the return of Durai’s son Balu, who leaves the native following an incident that dejected him, from far away.
With Durai getting injured severely, Balu takes up the twin responsibilities of conducting the festival in a peaceful manner and protecting the life of Anbu.
But Pechi is not ready to keep calm and makes all efforts to unleash hell. In the meantime, Balu is also in love with a chirpy girl (Keerthy Suresh), who aspires to becomes a police officer.
ANALYSIS:
After a gap of 13 years, the duo of Vishal and director N Lingusamy are back with the sequel to their blockbuster Sandakozhi. Though the second part is no patch on the first part, it is entertaining and engaging.
Vishal looks exactly how he was 13 years ago and elevates the stature of his character with his performance. Rajkiran commands respect from the audience too, just with his looks and minute expressions.
Keerthy Suresh, in a character which has all the potential to become Tamil cinema’s typical ‘loosu ponnu’, shines bright. However, it is Varalakshmi who is the scene-stealer with her performance as a dreaded woman. And there are a couple of surprise elements, which we are not revealing.
Yuvan Shankar Raja’s background score adds immense value to the screenplay, while his songs are average. Another big highlight of Sandakozhi 2 is the visuals of Shakthi, which is eye-catching in every scene.
With mass-loaded stunt scenes, racy screenplay and grand production values, Lingusamy, who hit a low with Anjaan some years ago, bounces back with vim and vigour in Sandakozhi 2.
