ANALYSIS
Rangoon, directed by debutant Rajkumar Periyasamy, is the best film in Gautham Karthik’s career thus far. While the director has done enough research to get things right, the actor too has made sincere attempts to deliver authentic performance.
The film throws light on the illegal businesses that take place in the city and Rajkumar Periyasamy and his team need to be appreciated for their efforts.
The first half is terrific and draws us into the story, while the second half loses steam. But the climax is strong and a solid message is delivered to the audience. Newcome Sana is bright and beautiful, while Siddique is brilliant.
RH Vikram and Vishal Chandrasekar have delivered goods in terms of music. Anish Tharun Kumar’s camera is one of the strengths of the film.
Rajkumar Periyasamy makes a solid debut with Rangoon. And it is an important film in Gautham Karthik’s career too.
