Pasanga 2 Tamil Movie Review

Catching them young

STORY:

Kavin (Nishesh) and Nayana (Vaishnavi) are school-going kids living in different localities of Chennai. They are too active, play unlimited pranks, uncontrollable, and hence, earn the wrath of teachers and neighbours.

Their parents (Ramdoss-Vidya Pradeep and Karthik Kumar-Bindhu Madhavi) suffer a lot because of their young ones and are forced to change houses and schools often. At one such point, both families relocate to same apartment complex near Tambaram.

All hells break loose as Kavin and Nayana meet each other and become good friends. Their partnership brings bigger troubles to their families and they are asked by others in the flat to vacate the premises and go elsewhere.

As their parents decide to admit them to hostel, enters Tamil Nadan (Suriya) and his wife Venba (Amala Paul) who too live in the same apartment. While the former is a child psychologist, the latter is a teacher.

Tamil Nadan (Suriya) vows to set things right and he finds that Kavin and Nayana have Attention Deficit Hyper Activity Disorder. How he addresses the issue?

ANALYSIS:

Pandiraj, after Pasanga, has once again scored big time in Pasanga 2. If his first venture was about children living in a rural area, his latest is about young ones living in metropolitian city.

The director has made extensive research about the subject, and this becomes visible in almost every scene. But he has clearly avoided the preachy tone, despite delivering a valid message.

In other words, Pasanga 2 provides us infotainment (information + entertainment). Without missing out on the entertainment value, it also gives us crucial information about the bringing up of children.

Nishesh and Vaishnavi have come out with solid performance and they are like seasoned actors. Suriya, though it was claimed as cameo, has done a power-packed role and brightens up the screen with his presence. Amala Paul is equally good.

Balasubramaniem’s camerawork is brilliant as it has captured the colours alive. Arrol Correli’s music is passable, while Praveen K L’s editing deserves a mention.

To mention the minus points, there are scenes that are predictable and lot of information is packed in some scenes, making us to miss out many.

But for these little flaws, Pasanga 2 is a meaningful entertainer. Hats off to Suriya and Pandiraj.
