Nenjil Thunivirundhal Review

Kumar (Sundeep Kishan) and Mahesh (Vikranth) are close buddies and they run a business together along with their other friend (Suri). Kumar has a sister and she falls for Mahesh, earning the wrath of the former’s mother (Thulasi).

While Kumar wants to lead a peaceful life, Mahesh is a brave man who fights for justice. Meanwhile, a fake police complaint is lodged against Mahesh.

The allegation against him is that he and his friends had attacked a real estate office. When Kumar probes, he finds out that the complaint is part of a bigger plan by a deadly quotation group led by a ruthless man (Harish Utthaman)

The criminal gang decides to bump off Mahesh. Now the onus is on Kumar to save his friend. The rest of the story is all about whether the friends are saved and whether Mahesh is able to join hands with his ladylove or not.

ANALYSIS:

Director Suseenthiran is known for packing social messages inside a commercial movie and Nenjil Thunivirundhal is one such offering from him. He takes his own time to establish characters and narrate the story.

Sundeep Kishan has continued where he had left in Maanagaram, by delivering a solid performance. Vikranth is not behind, as the movie has given him enough scope to show his prowess.

The main female lead Mehreen Pirzada looks gorgeous, while Suri tries to evoke laughter in certain scenes. Imman’s songs are good, but his background score could have been better. One of the big highlights of the movie is camera work by Lakshman.

As usual, Suseenthiran has tried to make things racy and riveting. But the movie loses steam in between and gains momentum towards the end. Also, it reminds one of the director’s earlier outings Pandiya Naadu and Naan Mahan Alla. Overall, NT is a good attempt.
