Nagarvalam Tamil Movie Review

Nagarvalam Tamil Movie Review

Town of tributes

STORY:

Yuthan Balaji is driver of a Metrowater lorry. He falls in love with Deekshitha, a girl in an area he supplies water to. Deekshitha too reciprocates his love.

Hailing from an influential family, Deekshitha is a die-hard fan of maestro Ilayaraja. As their love story develops, hindrance comes in the form of family members.

Elders in Deekshitha are against her love, as they feel that the boy is beneath their social and economic status. What follows is a mix of Subramaniapuram and Kaadhal.

ANALYSIS:

It is clear that director Markx (that’s how he spells his name) is inspired by films such as Subramaniapuram and Kaadhal, besides the music of the ‘Isaignani’.

For, throughout the film, we can feel the above things. At the same time, we should also appreciate him for presenting a love story without compromising much on commercial elements. Many scenes have the touch of realism.

Yuthan Balaji of Kana Kaanum Kaalangal fame has performed well, while Deekshitha too is good. Actor Pasupathy has appeared for one of the songs.

Music by Pavan of Vazhaku Enn fame fits the bill, while in the second half, the hardwork of cinematographer is visible. On the whole, Nagarvalam is a tale with too many inspirations and is interesting in parts.
