Meendum Oru Kadhal Kadhai Tamil Movie Review

A love story, again
Meendum Oru Kadhal Kadhai Tamil Movie Review
STORY:
Vinod (Walter Philips), with a next-door boy appeal, is an average student from a middle-class Hindu family. He falls in love with an ethereal beauty Aisha (Isha Talwar), hailing from a wealthy and politically influential Muslim family.
Smitten by love, the hero, as custom suggests, croons a few heart-melting songs, shakes a leg in style and jumps the compound wall of the palatial house of his sweetheart to air his feelings.
All his adventures are well-supported by his selfless friends. And one day, much to his surprise, Aisha reciprocates to his love. But there are the usual hurdles a normal Hindu-Muslim love would face.
But the big help comes from the men in khaki. Moved by his tale of woes, the policemen (led by Manoj K Jayan) wholeheartedly play the part of St Valentine and ensure the story ends in a happy note.
ANALYSIS
Director Mithran Jawahar is a remake specialist and he is at it again in Meendum Oru Kadhal Kadhai. A remake of Malayalam hit Thattathin Marayathu (Behind the veil), the film is a feel good love story.
Jawahar has faithfully remade the original. Hence, we get a feel of watching a Malayalam movie. Had he made certain changes to suit the nativity, the film would have been great.
Walter is a welcome new face and acting comes naturally to him. Isha Talwar has redone her role from the Malayalam original. Others in the cast, including Thalaivasal Vijay, Singamuthu and Manoj K Jayan, are right find for their respective roles.
Vishnu Sharma’s cinematography matches the visuals of the original (shot in Thalaserry), while G V Prakash Kumar has come with his best score in the recent past.
All these things make Meendum Oru Kadhal Kadhai worth for watching (at least once), despite giving a deja vu feel.
