STORY:

Marudhu (Vishal) is a happy-go-lucky youngster with a golden heart, brought by his mother Mariamma (Leela). He is too good that he can not tolerate if women are treated bad.

While Marudhu has fun under the sun in the company of his best buddy Kokarako (Soori), enters Rolex Pandian (R K Suresh), a thug-turned-politician, who is powerful in the locality.

There is Bhagyalakshmi (Sri Divya), Marudhu’s ladylove, who wants to avenge the death of her mother, murdered by Rolex Pandian. She files a case against him through her father Sankarapandian (Marimuthu), an advocate.

In the meantime, there is a backstory that connects Marudhu with Rolex Pandian. What is it? Is Bhagyalakshmi able to take revenge on Pandian? Does she get help from Marudhu?

ANALYSIS

After Sandakozhi, Thamirabharani and Avan Ivan, here is another rural entertainer from Vishal’s stable. The actor fits well to the role of a village youth and he delivers his best in action scenes.

Sri Divya, the scene stealer with her looks, gets a role that offers her a chance to perform. And she does justice. Soori, besides comedy scenes, has emotional sequences too. R K Suresh is slowly but surely emerging a sought after baddie of K-Town.

Velraj’s cinematography does the magic by taking us to village, while Praveen K L’s editing is razor sharp. Not to forget about D Imman’s music, especially background score.

Director Muthaiah seems to have become a specialist in rural-action genre (Kutti Puli, Komban and now Marudhu). But he should focus on bringing down cliched content and violence, at least in his future films, as they are too heavy in Marudhu.
