Kurup movie review

Story:

Dulquer Salman is a habitual offender who does not play by the rules.

The film’s story is a biography of a wanted criminal and fugitive. The story tracks the journey of Kurup from his early days at Indian Airforce Training centre.

He fakes his own death to escape from his duties to the IAF.

He assumes a new identity and flies off to Gulf.

But he returns back to Kerala to once again fake his death and claim the insurance money.

Three more people join his team and they kill a hitchhiker. Indrajith Sukumaran is appointed as the investigation officer in the case.

What happens next forms the rest of the story.

Analysis:

Director Srinath Rajendran has not gone overboard with the story.

The role is a walk in the park for Dulquer Salman. He plays a character that puts to use all his charm. He is seen in stylish costumes and dons various various looks.

Indrajith Sukumaran plays a vital role as the investigating officer. Shine Tom Chacko, Shivajith and Sobhita Dhulipala play important roles and deliver what was expected from them.

Music by Sushin Shyam is a backbone for this period crime thriller. Sushin’s background score elevates the mood of the film in an effective manner.

Cinematography by Nimish Ravi is outstanding. Screenplay and dialogues written by KS Aravind and Daniell Sayooj registers well.
