Kodi Tamil Movie Review

Fabulous Flag

STORY:

There is an aspiring politician (Karunas) who is unable to make it big. He loses his life in his fight to stop a factory from coming to his village.

And there are his twin sons – Kodi and Anbu (both played by Dhanush). While the former follows his father’s footsteps and enters politics, the latter becomes teacher.

And they have their respective love interests in the form of Rudhra (Trisha) and Malathy (Anupama Parameshwaran).

Circumstances force Kodi to contest against Rudhra in polls in an assembly constituency. How this face-off changes the equations and who emerges the winner, forms the rest of the plot.

In the meantime, Kodi also finds that the factory against which his dad lost his life is still functioning.

ANALYSIS:

Playing a dual role for the first time in his career, Dhanush shines like a diamond and makes his strong comeback in the box-office.

The nuances he shows between the two characters are nice and minute. Trisha has done a role with negative shades and emerges triumphant. Anupama looks cute.

Santhosh Narayanan proves once again why is he the sought after music composer in the industry. Both his background score and songs are good.

Director Durai Senthilkumar has scored a hat-trick after Ethir Neechal and Kaaki Sattai. A simple story, but he has presented it in a racy way. Though there are some flaws, Kodi flies high this Deepavali.
