Kaithi : Arresting adventure

STORY:

Dilli (Karthi) comes out of jail after 10 years, as he is released for his good conduct. He is keen to meet his daughter, who grows up in a home for the orphans.

A team of policemen led by Bejoy (Narain) makes a prize catch of a huge amount of cocaine and hides it in a secret chamber in the Commissioner’s office. The drug smuggling gang’s boss too is arrested.

The gang decides to teach a lesson to the police team which seized the drugs and arrested its boss. The drinks of police officials are spiked and all of them except Bejoy (he doesn’t drink due to an injury) are under sedation.

Bejoy seeks the help of Dilli to transport the inebriated cops to a safe place. In the meantime, the gang tries to attack the police personnel and a police station to free their boss.

The rest is all about whether Dilli, who is about to meet his daughter the next day, is able to help the police and unite with his daughter.

ANALYSIS:

Kaithi, by director Lokesh Kanagaraj, is yet another gripping thriller like the filmmaker’s first venture Maanagaram. The entire story unfolds during a few hours in the night and each and every frame is not to be missed.

Karthi comes up with a very good performance and the scene in which he narrates his story is a sample to the actor that he is. Narain gets a break after a long time and does justice to the role.

George Mariyan steals the show in the company of a bunch of youngsters, while Arjun Dass is good. The young artiste who has played Karthi’s daughter and other actors have delivered commendable performance.

Sathyan Sooryan’s cinematography is the biggest highlight of the film and it works big time. Equally good are Sam CS’s music and crisp editing by Philomin Raj.

While too much of stunt scenes make us feel exhausted at one point of time, Kaithi is a Deepavali delight which will sure be loved by those who patron quality movies and enjoy action-filled films.
