Kaashmora Tamil Movie Review

Kaashmora Tamil Movie Review

Fantasy Flag

STORY:

Kaashmora (Karthi) is a fake exorcist who makes money by cheating people. With simple and smart technqiues, he easily deceives the audience.

His family (Vivekh has played his father) gets caught in an old palace which is haunted by the ghost of a war-lord Rajnayak (also played by Karthi).

Rajnayak wants to sacrifice the family to take his revenge on Rathnamadevi (Nayanthara) who killed him centuries ago. Does the family escapes or does Rajnayak succeeds in sacrificing them forms the rest of the story.

ANALYSIS:

Horror comedies are the flavour of the season and director Gokul of Rowthiram and Idharkuthaane Aasaipattai Balakumara fame has mixed ‘historic fantasy’ elements into it, and the end product is Kaashmora.

For Karthi, who badly deserved a break, Kaashmora is the right choice. And more than the fraudster Kaashmora, he shines bright as the warlord Raj Nayak.

Nayanthara’s role is small yet strong, while Sri Divya has not been given much say in the script, though she looks beautiful and performs well. Others in the cast are okay.

Santhosh Narayanan’s music is a big plus, while computer graphics might attract kids. There are some lengthy and unwanted scenes, especially the sequences in the name of comedy. But still, Kaashmora manages to grab and sustain the attention.
