Jackpot Tamil Movie Review

Rating: 3.25 out of 5

Jackpot: Potluck

STORY:

Akshaya (Jyothika) and Maasha (Revathy) are con women. The latter is the godmother of the former and both lead a happy life by cheating others. They also help the needy.

One day, they fight with an Inspector and this leads them to jail. Inside the prison, they meet an elderly woman who tells them that she had buried a magical vessel (like Akshaya Pathram) inside the house of a local politician and businessman Manasthan (Anandaraj).

After coming out of jail, Akshaya and Maasha decide to take the vessel out at any cost and hatch a plan to achieve their mission. They also take the help of two more (‘Naan Kadavul’ Rajendran and Yogi Babu).

The rest is all about whether Akshaya and Maasha are able to take the magical vessel, which multiplies everything that is dropped inside, out of the house of the politician or not.

ANALYSIS:

Jyothika is like a mass hero- She gets introduction song, gravity defying fights, punch dialogues and more. And she does everything with consummate ease and elan.

Revathy lends solid support to Jyothika. But the one who brings the roof down with his performance is Anandaraj. In a dual role, he makes the audience to laugh out loud whenever he appears.

Rajendran and Yogi Babu add value to their roles, while Anandaraj’s combination scenes with Thangadurai and Kingsley are hilarious.

With Vishal Chandrasekhar’s peppy music and Anandakumar’s cinematography complimenting each other well, Jackpot, coupled with a hilarious script and good performance, is a fun-filled ride. But, to enjoy the movie, you should keep your brain outside the theatre and pick it up when you come out after watching the film.
