Idhu Namma Aalu Tamil Movie Review
Man & Magic
STORY:
Siva works as a project manager with a software company. A carefree youngster, he has many love stories to fill his resume with. One day, when he goes to his hometown, his dad (Jayaprakash) wants him to marry a girl of his choice.
Eventually, Siva meets Maila (Nayanthara), a beautiful and sharp girl, and it is love at first sight. While elders in the families give nod for the wedding, Mailaa comes to know about Siva’s past.
In fact, one among the girls he was in love with was her own friend (Andrea Jeremiah). But still, Mailaa decides to marry Siva. However, fate has other plans. Does Siva marry Mailaa or not?
ANALYSIS:
For Simbu, acting in Idhu Namma Aalu should have been like living his own life. To add more to the state of affairs, there are too many self-reference dialogues (Enakku nadikka theriyadhu, En love a vechi comedy panreenga etc).
Nayanthara, who is back with Simbu after a long gap, has a meaty role that fits to her present status in the industry. And she does justice. Beautiful Andrea Jeremiah performs well too. But the solid strength comes from Soori, while Jayaparakash is adequate.
Kuralasaran, Simbu’s younger brother, has made his debut as music composer and he has got the basics right. Cinematography and editing departments are cool and sharp, respectively.
Director Pandiraj, despite the film hitting the screens late, has ensured that it hits the bull’s eye right. With a familiar story and cliched scenes, he has won the help of dialogues, performance and execution.
