Enga Amma Rani aka Rani Tamil Movie Review
Mom and they
STORY:
Sai Dhanshika is a lone mother who has twin daughters to take care of, as her husband, who was working in Cambodia, goes missing in his workplace
She lives with her daughters in Malaysia and searches for a job to make the ends meet. One day, one of her kids gets affected by a disease and dies soon.
At a time when Dhanshika vows to protect the other daughter at any cost, she too gets affected by the ailment. What the mother does to save the child forms the rest of Enga Amma Rani
ANALYSIS:
Director Bani deserves pat for handling an emotional subject. He has mixed some eerie elements too, making the proceedings gripping.
Sai Dhanshika has delivered a power-packed performance, while others in the cast have delivered goods. The young artistes, especially, have performed well.
A major highlight of the film is music by maestro Ilayaraja, for the legendary composer’s songs and background music are soul of Enga Amma Rani.
The director could have avoided the movie ending up like a television drama. Certain scenes are dragging too. At the same time, Enga Amma Rani is an emotional and engaging movie.
