Dhilluku Dhuddu Tamil Movie Review

STORY:

Kajal (Shanaya), a rich girl in Sowcarpet area, is in love with Royapuram guy Kumar (Santhanam). Though her rich father (Saurabh Shukla) does not want his daughter getting married to a local guy, he gives nod to the wedding as he is not left with any other option.

When he seeks the help of henchman Mani (‘Naan Kadavul’ Rajendran) to ‘set things right’, Mani suggests that a haunted house in Sivankonda Malai as the wedding venue so that Kumar’s death would be believed as a ghost attack.

Even as Kumar effectively and efficiently handles the fake ghost drama of Rajendran & Co, real ghosts enter the scene at one point of time. They are the spirits of a woman and her son, who were killed by a Tibetian king. What’s next is the rest of ‘Dhilluku Dhuddu’.

ANALYSIS:

Santhanam seems to have become clear about one thing- to completely shed his comedian image and to establish himself a ‘commercial hero’.

Though ‘Dhilluku Dhuddu’ has enough funny moments, especially in the second half, the first half is spent to position Santhanam’s dance, fight and emotional skills. Though his hard work is visible, it becomes like watching a reality show at one point of time.

But we get to see the regular Santhanam post interval session, which is one of the biggest highlights of the movie. While Shanaya is apt selection for her role, Saurabh Shukla and Rajendran add immense value to the movie.

The film is good technically too, and you to have laud Deepak Kumar Pathy’s cinematography and the computer graphics team for that. Had director Rambala, who has made a decent debut, cut short Santhanam’s ‘heroic portions’, the film would have been even more better.

Verdict: Average
